Q1: How should I choose between polypropylene and polyester?
A1: Select the material according to the liquid’s chemical composition, concentration and operating temperature. Confirm compatibility for the actual process rather than assuming either material suits every liquid.
Q2: What is the difference between Size 1 and Size 2?
A2: Size 2 is longer and generally provides more filtration area than Size 1. The bag must match the housing, support basket and sealing arrangement.
Q3: Does a 1-micron rating mean every particle above 1 micron is removed?
A3: Not automatically. Retention depends on whether the rating is nominal or absolute and on the test conditions. Request the relevant retention specification before selecting a grade.
Q4: Does a finer micron rating always provide better results?
A4: A finer rating targets smaller particles but can increase flow resistance and require more frequent replacement. Select a grade that meets the process requirements without unnecessary restriction.
Q5: When should a liquid filter bag be replaced?
A5: Monitor differential pressure and process performance. Replace the bag at the specified change-out limit or earlier if it is damaged; follow the bag and housing operating instructions.
